Hear the original English version of Händel's Messiah in a Sing Along Concert at Vienna’s St. Stephen’ Cathedral, 280 years after the piece was composed!
After all this time, Händel’s Messiah is still one of the most popular pieces of sacred music. The great English choral tradition provided Handel with essential inspiration, and so here too the choir plays the main part in the action. The mighty climax of the Hallelujah became a real sacred hit and still moves every listener today as it did at the first performance in Dublin in 1742.
Under the direction of Gerald Wirth, President and Artistic Director of the Vienna Boys' Choir, this masterpiece was intensively studied on by choir singers from all over the world in several workshops during the Sing Along! Choir Festival. The crowning finale is the performance with renowned soloists and the Vienna Cathedral Orchestra in St. Stephen's Cathedral.
