Fledermaus Dances Waltz
at Musikverein

7:30 pm | Vienna Musikverein, Golden Hall

Listen to "Fledermaus Dances Waltz" in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein - the benefit concert in aid of Caritas Hospice with masterpieces by Johann Strauss Sohn, Franz Lehár and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

The Meiji High School Wind Orchestra under Masato Suzuki begins the evening with the enchanting sounds of the king of waltzes, Johann Strauss Sohn. Let yourself be carried away by the overture to the operetta "Die Fledermaus" and immerse yourself in the world of Romanticism. Franz Lehár's charming overture to "The Merry Widow" takes you back to the golden era of operetta. A highlight of the evening is undoubtedly Masaki Itani's paraphrase of "Swan Lake" by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The sounds create a fairytale atmosphere and present the power of the wind orchestra in its full splendor in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein. A modern twist is added with Masaru Tanaka's fascinating composition "Prominence Bird".

Experience an evening full of musical diversity that transcends the boundaries of time and genre. "Die Fledermaus tanzt Walzer" promises an unforgettable journey through different musical worlds, presented by the Meiji High School Wind Orchestra, which celebrates the power of wind music in the unique ambience of the Musikverein.

The Caritas Hospice accompanies seriously ill, dying people and their relatives, because despite serious illness, there is much that can be done to maintain or improve quality of life.

The net proceeds from the concert support the important work of Caritas Hospice.
