Elijah
8:30pm | St. Stephen's Cathedral
Commemorating the 175th anniversary of Felix Mendelssohn’s death, hear his Elijah at St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. The oratorio about the story of the biblical prophet Elijah is still one of the composer's best-known works. Mendelssohn translated the drama from the Old Testament into equally dramatic music, some of which has operatic features.
Under the direction of Gerald Wirth, President and Artistic Director of the Vienna Boys' Choir, this masterpiece was intensively studied on by choir singers from all over the world in several workshops during the Sing Along! Choir Festival. The crowning finale is the performance with renowned soloists and the Vienna Cathedral Orchestra in St. Stephen's Cathedral.
