Falling in Love with Prokofjew
Romeo & Julia

7:30pm | MuTh

Listen to the stirring music of Sergei Prokofiev's "Romeo & Juliet" at MuTh, which is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the 20th century. It tells the touching love story of the two hostile families Montague and Capulet. Prokofiev's masterful composition perfectly captures the emotional depth of the tragic romance and gives the characters a voice that speaks directly to our hearts.

But Prokofiev is not the only composer on the program for this special concert evening at MuTh, there are also parts from Jan Sibelius' legendary "Violin Concerto in D Minor" or the "Scherzo Fantastique" by Joseph Suk, magnificently interpreted by the Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra under the direction of principal conductor Omid Zoufonoun.

But the concert evening is also special because the orchestra from the USA supports the valuable work of two organizations: All concert donations from the evening will go to the Hilfswerk Neighborhood Assistance Centers and to the Hospice of Caritas Vienna. The young musicians want to build bridges across national borders and continents - from young to old, from person to person - right into the hearts of the audience!

The Caritas Hospice accompanies seriously ill, dying people and their relatives, because despite serious illness, many things can be done to maintain or improve the quality of life.

The Hilfswerk Nachbarschaftszentren are places of exchange, networking and living together. With their diverse offerings, they are open to everyone and are there for people who need support or want to help.
