The girls and boys of the Vienna Singing School bring a pre-Christmas atmosphere to St Stephen's Cathedral! Leave the Christmas hustle and bustle outside the cathedral gates and enjoy the atmospheric, pre-Christmas songs in the impressive nave with the young singers of the Vienna Singing School.
The proven training concept of the Vienna Singing School has stood for quality for many years. The lessons appeal to all the senses and enable every child from primary school age to gain their first musical experience. The choir and singing training is continued in the Vienna-wide children's and youth choirs of the City of Vienna's music schools.
The international, multilingual programme with traditional and modern pieces makes the Advent season enjoyable and contemplative and provides an opportunity to pause for thought.
The singers of the Vienna Girls' Choir and the Vienna Youth Choir open the concert with atmospheric choral music from the 20th century. In an alternating line-up, almost 500 voices together with the cathedral orchestra and two organs will make St Stephen's Cathedral resound! The Vienna Children's Voices, the Vienna ABC Choirs and the Vienna-wide children's and youth choirs wish the audience a blessed Advent and Christmas season with their Christmas singing and sing for peace in the world.
