Experience outstanding a-capella singers in St. Stephen's Cathedral!
The award-winning a-cappella sextet Ingenium Ensemble from Ljubljana will perform for the first time in St. Stephen's Cathedral. The ensemble mainly sings madrigals and motets from the Renaissance, masterfully interprets works by Jacobus Gallus, William Byrd, Henri Dumont and Antonin Dvořák and has also included numerous works from Slovenia's extensive choral tradition and contemporary compositions in its programme. No matter in which genre the singers perform, the musical delight and entertainment is always guaranteed.
The Ingenium Ensemble was founded in 2009 and among others won several prizes at the International A-Cappella Competition in Leipzig, the International Polifonico Competition in Arezzo (Italy) and the prestigious International Choir Competition in Tolosa (Spain).
The concert is an event in the year of the beginning Neighbourhood Dialogue Austria - Slovenia 2019/20, in which the two countries devote themselves more to the common cultural area. Personalities from the arts, culture and science of both nations have left their mark on one another with outstanding achievements that continue to have an effect to this day. The focus is on dialogue and contemporary artists. The repertoire of the Ingenium Ensemble is exemplary in this respect.
Look forward to an outstanding a cappella evening!
